Important Dates
Sibling applications are due October 31. All other applications are due January 31. In December and/or February, children attend scheduled playdates with their parents. Families are notified about admissions decisions by the beginning of March.
Policy
Children must be 2.5 years old by September 30 of the year they will enter preschool. Parents of children who do not meet the age requirement are welcome to visit, but the regulation, according to the District of Columbia, must be strictly enforced. Special consideration for admission is given to children of staff, and children whose siblings attend the preschool.
Tuition Assistance
Need-based Tuition Assistance Grants are available for families who experience financial hardship. As funds are limited, tuition assistance is not guaranteed. St. John’s Preschool uses School and Student Service for Financial Aid to process financial aid applications. Grants are awarded in the spring for the following school year. St. John’s Preschool accepts qualified families regardless of race, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, or cultural background.
